Anyone else have problems using the lat/longs to place your new custom markers? Is there a science to this because I created almost identical dimensioned markers but where i place them based on the copy lat/long option in developer mode does not put them in the right place when zoomed out. If I keep the markers fixed and zoom in, they appear to be in the correct place though.

I guess the problem is with the center - the center your graphics should be in 0,0 position. And I guess your top left corner is there.

Thanks Antanas for quick reply, I'm using Illustrator to create the new marker then export as swf, what do you use? How do you know if it's in 0,0 position?

I don't know how this is done with Illustrator. I do this with flash - you should create fla file, import your swf and move it so that the center is in 0,0

thanks, will give it a try, however, just like google maps has a pointer at the bottom of the icon, this is similar to what i'm doing, which is not the same as the center of the icon.
