Color for country borders?

How can I set different colors for the borders between countries?   To allow the member alpha gradients to display, I've reduced the contrast for the countries with no values.

thanks, bruce

Re: Color for country borders?

borsers is a separate area with mc_name="borders" so the color can be controlled like color of any other area, for example:

<area title="borders" mc_name="borders" color="#FFFFFF" balloon="false"></area>

Re: Color for country borders?

Thanks.  Works great, and I see that it's also possible to add balloons, adjust alpha, etc. to borders like an area.

1.  Is it possible to set the width of the border?  I don't see a value for this in areas documentation.
2.  Is it possible to control the boarder color, etc. for one specific area (i.e. the US to show there is additional data);
3.  Is it possible to put a different border around a group of contiguous contries, but keep the standard boarder within the larger border?  (i.e. put a different border around SADC countries [SA, ZM, BW, etc.]?  This would be great to show regional political and organizational groupings.)

Re: Color for country borders?

You can only do all these things by manualy editing fla files of maps (they are available with enterprise license only)

Re: Color for country borders?

Hi,

Related to country borders, had a question but not sure if was asked before.  Wanted to find out if you can choose to have visible country borders from a world view without developing a custom map and custom coordinates?  Right now you can only see the region and with no country borders.  It's fine that when you click you zoom in on a region rather than a country (that works for us anyway).  However, we want to be able to see country borders in a color (e.g. gray or black) on the general world map before you zoom in.  That is how you can see it in maps for most atlases, National Geographic, etc.

Re: Color for country borders?

You could use world map (the one with countries), and set the same zoom attributes for all the countries in the continent. Otherwise you can do it only by editing fla files (it's not so difficult, all you need is to take country borders from world map (all of them are in one movie clip) and paste it to a continents.fla file.

Re: Color for country borders?

I'm not sure if this question was answered in your 2008-01-07 response, but it's quite simple:  How do I enable borders that separate land and water?  That is, how do I get the borders to outline entire continents, islands, etc?

Re: Color for country borders?

The maps used with ammap doesn't have these borders, so it is not possible.
