I believe we handled this over the email. Just for other users that might be looking for the same thing: the solution is very simple. Just include static map image into map container:
<div id="flashcontent"><img src="germany.jpg" /></div>
If Flash is not available user will see the fallback image. If it is available, the image will be replaced with the interactive map.
Also, please note that we are quite close to the release of JavaScript version of amMap that will be compatible with iPhone/iPad.

can you tell me which file you put the code into - is it the index.html? and where to you get the .jpg of the map from?

Yes, you need to put that in the html file.
It's up to you to find the the static map. Google Image Search is a good place to start.
